Jersey

Was in Jersey this last 3 days and only just got back.


And since it's work, we naturally had no chance whatsoever to see the place. Didn't even get to see the sun properly since we start and end when it's all dark.

A bit sad really.


So, while in the Jersey airport, I had this last minute idea of getting a postcard and sending it from there. This failed miserably as well - postcards were only sold in the departure lounge once you got passed security, but you can't buy stamps or post from inside since the postbox and post office are located outside security o.O *even the staff couldn't post it for you*

Ended up buying a postcard *of some place I never knew - not many choices anyway*, and decide to send it back to KL from London instead -_-

Oh, the staff at the shop happened to be clearing out some expired Jersey clotted cream fudge which came in those tin cans that look like mini milk cans but has a coin slot on top, and they kindly let me take one after I asked for it since I only want the can anyway ^_^ *probably just to get rid of me*

And I also bought a Jersey pound note off my colleague, just for a souvenir.


The hotel wasn't bad for a new one, being quite a distasteful-looking building on a very good location on the quay. The modern furnishings did seem a bit cheap-looking although the rooms come with flatscreen TVs *mine kept turning itself off :(*. Best was the 4 extremely fluffy pillows on a bed that wasn't bouncy at all but which sinks slightly with your weight, not to mention a foamy comforter too. The overall effect was to make it very hard to get out of bed to go to work in the mornings, since you're literally all sunk in...


The overall trip wasn't bad and considering we didn't get out at all, the flight-part was definitely the main highlight for me. For the first time ever, I had non-economy seats!

Ok, it's not as exciting as it sounds -_-; it wasn't first class or even business/coach, but something called ClubEurope which is between business and economy class *very much closer to economy -_-;;*. It's a small one-cabin plane, so the only difference was that the seats were slightly bigger compared to economy and the section was curtained off at the front of the plane. Oh, and we were served a proper meal *without the side dishes though* instead of the usual half-a-sandwich-wrap ^_^ but one can't enjoy it since it's a very brief flight *even shorter than my Brussels/Paris ones* and the stewardess had to serve us one tray at a time without using a trolley *rolls eyes*. So much for my first non-economy experience :p hm, it was kinda cool to walk down the steps from the plane straight onto Jersey airport's tar runway. Oh, and it's so long since I've seen those adorable airplane metal cutlery and cute glasses ^_^


All in all, not bad for 3 quite tiring days.
